Announcing our "In Action" Photo Contest

People Enhancing People wants to highlight the quality elements of the relationship between Clients and PCAs. This is a professional relationship that is often misunderstood and tainted by misperceptions created by the few individuals who have not been successful in building professional, quality working relationships with those in need of home care. PEP wants to celebrate the valuable work that goes into building relationships that are successful endeavors. We know it is with care that PCAs invest their time and energy in helping Clients successfully maintain independent living, and the care put into this work also helps care providers achieve their professional development goals.

In the spirit of celebrating this wonderful relationship, PEP is hosting a photo contest, welcoming pictures of our Clients and PCA's "In Action." Let's dispel the myths of what the working relationship between a Client and PCA is and share the TRUE story of this valuable relationship! Submit photos of you "In Action," engaged together in the daily activities that allow truly independent living. Photos will be displayed in the PEP office in celebration of the work we do. Winning entries will be featured in upcoming issues of PEP Talk, as well as other PEP publications. Please email your photos to

Announcing our Fall Issue of PEP Talk

In this issue we celebrate the wonderful work of long-time PCA, Cheryl H, nominated for the PCA Spotlight by her Client, Chrystal. We learn of the value of a great working relationship highlighted by our PCA Becca R, who nominated her Client, Kerry Nelson for the Client Spotlight. Your voices weigh in on the PCA reimbursement cuts, the value of volunteering, and send thoughts of support in living your dreams in the article, Your Red Carpet Awaits. It's another great issue. Due to changes in the Minnesota PCA Program, we are required to gather information on the nature of the relationship between every PCA and each of their clients. All staff must have this documentation in their file by October 1st, 2011.

Are you interested in talking to your state senator or representative about issues important to you? Your legislators are just a phone call or letter away. To obtain your legislators' contact information so you may contact your legislature and urge immediate compromise to prevent a State Shutdown, click this link Click Here (Mn State Legislature website.) Here you can type in your address, hit the Search button, and you will find the information you need to place a phone call or write a letter to your senator and representative regarding issues important to you.
